HIV TESTS

HIV tests are used to detect the presence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS. These tests are quick, safe, and confidential.

How do HIV tests work?

HIV can be detected in different ways:

🩸 Blood tests – the most common and accurate method.

😮‍💨 Saliva tests – simple swab tests that look for antibodies.

💧 Urine tests – less common but sometimes used.

These tests may detect:

Antibodies – the body’s response to the virus.

Antigens – parts of the virus itself.

RNA – the genetic material of the virus.
